Data that is used for this research is secondary data. This research takes sample from 278 companies in The Indonesian Stock Exchange which publish the financial report for 2009. The analysis method is the multiple linear regression. The results of this study show that (1) board of directors size had not negative significance influence to the performance of family owned and Bukan-family owned companies based on ROE, and (2) the proportion of independent director had not significance influence to the performance of family owned and non-family owned companies based on ROE.
