Anthropometric research can be done with two methods of measurement of traditional or conventional measurements and modern measurements.Research on anthropometry vulnerable in the presence of errors, especially using conventional measurement methods. Meanwhile, to obtain a reliable anthropometric data depends on the ability to measure from the measurer. Therefore the error as a result of negligence or carelessness gauges should be minimized as much as possible. According to the Pheasant and Haslegrave (2006), there are at least four components of measurement error that must be considered is the measurement error originating from the gauge / use measuring instruments, measurement errors derived from the subject of measurement, the determination of the reference points of the body being measured, and positioning the subject for a standard body measurement, which is where three of the four components are highly dependent on the measurer (Yanto, 2008). Errors in measurement will affect the measurement results to be obtained,so that the resulting data is not accurate and reprensentatif. Errors that occur will be processed and identified by performing tests of significance then will get the dimensions of which are the most susceptible to an error and which error is the most vulnerable in anthropometric measurements. |
