| In a company, ergonomics concept is a priority in an effort to increase productivity for the progress of the company. With the implementation of ergonomics in the company, expected numbers of employees’ health and safety level, will be better. Every company has an important role in national economic development, especially small industrial enterprises. Ergonomics concept has not been done in small industrial. Human factor is important in productivity, the decreased productivity is caused by human error. Human error is caused by poor work station. Work stations can be designed by applying the concept of ergonomics. A supporting facilities is needed to create a condusive work station. The sitting work station need to be considered as one of the important supporting facilities. In this case of the small scale garment industry in DKI Jakarta, the workers spend relatively long time in the work station in a sitting position. The sitting position is very important to maintain the convenience of working garment industry workers, then this study aims to evaluate the compatibality of the sitting work station’s facilities related to the anthropometric dimensions (body dimensions) garment industry workers. The results of this survey revealed that there is a mismatch between the body dimensions with the facilities. Therefore the design of the new facilities (table and chair) that match to the anthropometric dimensions of the garment industry workers can be proposed. |
