Abstract
This research of performance appraisal system design based on Balanced Scorecard was conducted to design a department performance appraisal system for Metro Indah Mall and analising the system as a result of the design that was conducted. The design of performance appraisal systen based on Balanced Scorecard was conducted because there was no performance appraisal system for Metro Indah Mall’s department. The design was conducted by constructing a strategy map for every Balanced Scorecard’s perspective and was connected between one strategic objective and the other. Internal business process, which was a chain of process that was continuous, was degraded to the extent of the most detailed process and arranged to a diagram. That process and strategic objective become a task of many department at Metro Indah Mall. This performance appraisal system design is involving consumers too by appraising their satisfaction to Metro indah Mall. This performance appraisal system design need some data from Metro Indah Mall that consists of company’s vision and mission data, strategic objectives, measure, Metro Indah Mall’s organization data, and Metro Indah Mall’s standard data. The expected result from this research is the performance appraisal system based on Balanced Scorecard to appraise the performance of Metro Indah Mall’s department so it can be implemented and accurately appraising the performance that leads to its vision and mission. The result from the research of performance appraisal system design based on Balanced Scorecard for Metro indah Mall is the connection between each strategic objective also their measurements so that strategic objective was possible to be measured. This perdormance appraisal system can be implemented for Metro Indah Mall by using a form and questionaire that was designed and the steps to performance appraisal systematically.
