| PT Sinar Plastik Pratama is a company engaged in manufactured plastic recycling.To increase production, PT SPP requires improved layout of the facility. The problem identified is the distance between departments that are too far away so that the material handling and storage/warehouse cost at the time of materials transported becomes high. The proposed solution to minimize material handling cost is redesigning of PT Sinar Plastik Pratama plant facilities layout.In this study, redesigning the layout of plant facilities using a process layout (layout).The layout produces an initial layout, from to chart in which the input to obtain the best design layout.The method used is lingo and winQSB software to determine a good layout. From the results of research, the material handling distance moved decreased.Material handling distance/displacement in the early layout of 1111.56 m, whereas the proposed layout of 674.06m. Material handling costs are also reduced in the amount of Rp 6.385.959.7, from the initial layout of Rp 8,919,354.07.The conclusion drawn from both studies is the proposed layout is better than the initial layout. |
