The statement expressed by a modern qasidah singer El-Hawa from Semarang. Is this like that the reality? Every person would have the same answer, different or even in opposition with the singer. Jilbab, especially in Javanese culture and Indonesian people in gen¬eral is identic with tradition imported from the Arab. The latter, from generation to generation always wear jilbab. Wearing jilbab in Arab probably initiated by tradition (custom) or even due to religious motive. Despite of those two reasons, what is clear that Arab women up to now still wear jilbab.
