The goal of this project is to build a platform for MIMO (multiple inputmultiple output) vibration control. In order to achieve that, derivation of the model of the physical system of the plate including sensor and actuator from its mathematical model is needed. A rectangular thin plate of aluminium (AL 6061-T6) is used as a test structure. Theoretical analysis and numerical studies are conducted to derive the mathematical model of the plate. In numerical studies, ANSYS™ program is used to simulate the plate in order to get the natural frequencies and the mode shape. A comparison between the theoretical analysis and the numerical studies is then used to validate the model. From system identification of the structure it is possible to know the characteristic of the plate’s natural frequencies, modes shapes and damping ratio. From these characteristic we can derive the model plant of the plate. MATLAB™ and SIMULINK™ are used in the derivation of the model plant of the plate. |
