Abstract
This research aims to create a mathematical model based on the relationship between heart rate and oxygen consumption. Thirty women was taken as samples of the research. Twenty of them is used to create a mathematical model of the relationship of heart rate and oxygen consumption, whereas the remaining ten people are used to validate the model. The sampling was done by using non-probability judgmental sampling where the sample to be taken are selected based on criteria of age and physical activity level of frequency. Specified age is 18-25 years in which the research subjects do not perform physical activity frequently. In this study, subjects were given physical activity (running on a treadmill) for 6 minutes and at the same time, the researcher captured the data of heart rate and oxygen consumption. The research was performed at the Laboratory of Human Factors, Industrial Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia as the provider of Fitmate Med that used in this research. The processing data was assisted by software Minitab 15. The data that have been obtained by researchers recapitulize and carry out for tests of normality. After that, correlation test was conducted to see the relationship between the variables (heart rate and oxygen consumption). Linear regression test is used to see how the data is related in a linear function and also to obtain a mathematical model of the relationship between these variables. After the mathematical model was formed, then continued by testing the validity of the model. In validity test, we use two test variance test to view the different of variances between the results of model calculations and measurements of oxygen consumption for validation. Followed by two-sample t-test to see significant level of the difference average. The result is there is a strong relationship and a positive regression between heart rate (HR)
and oxygen consum ption (VO2max) by the formula: 2 =-23,52+0,3057 Also found that the heart rate and oxygen consumption was significantly associated linear and also found the coefficient of determination R-Sq = 88.2% which means that 88.2% sample variance of VO2 max can be explained by the variable of heart rate (HR)
