Isi artikelThe prevalence of overweight and obesity in children and adults has been increasing significantly over the past 20 years. Low physical activity and the change of life style are the main factor that associated with overweight and obesity. In addition to increase the risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension, hepatobiliary disease, osteoarthritis, diabetes mellitus, and sleep apnea, surprisingly obesity also increase the risk of colorectal cancer related to high level of insulin and the increment of resistance insulin. In part, these associations with cancer risk may be explained by alteration in the metabolism of endogenous hormones, including insulin, insulin-like growth factors, and insulin-like growth factor binding protein, which can lead to distortion of the normal balance between cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. The prevention of weight gain, change of daily diet, and regular physical activity are proved to decrease all of the risk.
