This article discusses research results centered on identitying teaching competency and demonstrated by teachers in classroom compared to standard competency to be achieved as stated in program curridulum. Observation was conducted in junior and senior high schools located in district of Tangerang. Province of Bantern where participants work as teacher. Reserch was held during january- August 2006 a Stake Model was ased as a method of program evaluation. Data and information was collected using naturalistic approach through (a) observing the teaching performance demonstrated by teacher in classroom, (b) recording teacher and student behavior during class session, and (c) interviewing the impacted groups such as teacher and students. Results of the study shows that teaching competency as domonstrated by teachers who are PAM FKIP-UP Pariticipans is relevant only in the way they parctice the techique and procedure of the lesson plans. External factors seem to be the most influential issues for the teacher to practice a creative and total performance while teaching.
