Isi artikel
Tahara Soichiro: Soon after the opposition Democratic Party of Japan impressive in the victory in the summer 2007 House of Councillors election, a considerable number of journalism reported the results with a strong undertone that now things had gotten interesting in the world of Japanese politics. The truth of this new political landscape, though, aws a gridlocked National Diet, with the two houses controlled by different parties. Yosano Kaoru: The Diet has been unable to function as a forum realistic policy deabate. The explanation for this is quite simple: It’s because the DPJ has allowed all its actions to be guided by the single goal winning big in the next generation election. The Democrats’ hope is that they can ride the momentum of their victory in the upper house contest all the way to the next election for the House of Repsentatitives.
