Following precedent, during the course of our international conference we will advance by three stages: reality, reflection and action. On the basis of these perspectives we will try to carry out the task assigned to us by the Holy Father of directin, promoting and coordinating the pastoral care that should be exarcised in the very urgent field of sick children. Allow me to introduce our study by making a few brief references to two of these three points. these references could be a primary approach to our subjet, which will be dealt wiht broadly by our very competent speakers, while awaiting the direktion that the Holy Father Benedict XVI will wige us
