Abstract
PT Indofood Sukses Makmur CBP is a company engaged in the food industry and manufacturing based in the manufacture of instant noodle. PT Indofood Sukses Makmur CBP wants to reduce the amount of scrap generated by the machinery of production, especially in frying and cooling machine. In frying and cooling machine produces scraps of Crushed Fine (HH) and Crushed Broken (HP) exceeds the standards set by the factory which is 0.1%. Exceeding the amount of scrap that was formed to make the quality of instant noodles produced decreases. In addition, the amount of scrap that exceeds factory standards will make the profit margin earned by the company menurun.Oleh because it needs a revision in the form of re-setting machines, especially in frying and cooling machine that produces high scrap. The purpose of resetting the machine to do the frying and cooling machine is to reduce the amount of scrap that is formed in order to meet the standards set by the factory. The method used to determine resetting the machine is to use the Design Experiment. Experimental design used was Full Factorial 44. Based on the result of brainstorming by the company found four factors and four levels of factors that have an influence on the high amount of scrap produced. The factors and factor levels are used, among others, are factors in the process of packaging conveyor speed (0.08 m / s, 0085 m / s, 0:09 m / s, 0095 m / s), conveyor speed in the cooling process (0075 m / s, 0:08 m / s, 0085 m / s, 0:09 m / s), rotational speed (rpm) cooling fan (900 rpm, 1000 rpm, 1100 rpm, 1200 rpm) and temperature (temperature) of oil during frying (115 ° C, 120 oC, 125 oC, 135 oC). Each combination is repeated (replicate) three times. Results obtained from a combination of each factor and factor levels was found that a combination of factors and factor levels that produce the smallest amount of scrap is a combination of frying process conveyor speed 0.08 m / s, the cooling process conveyor speed 0.09 m / s, rotational speed (rpm ) cooling fan 1200rpm, the temperature (temperature) oil when frying 1150C. From the result of a combination of factors and factor levels are found for the proportion of total scrap amounted to 0.0366%, much smaller than the amount previously generated scrap that is equal to 0.1735%.
