Interviewer -It’s now quite some time since the House of Councillors election last July [ in which the ruling coalition lost control of the upper house], but confusion continues to reign in the National Diet, with the nation’s lawmakers unable to decide anything. Nonaka Hiromu I think the Diet has turned into mush. Last week an American whose wife is Japanese and who has lived in Japan for many years told me has was worried that Japan seemed to melting away.
