The purpose of this study is create a anthropometric database of hand segment based on the adults that domiciled in DKI Jakarta. The number of sample taken is 400 people. With details, 218 people for male samples and 182 people for female samples. The samples is divided to 5 region based on municipality in DKI Jakarta that adjusted by proporsion of the total population of each area. This study is mainly focused on 19 dimensions of hand. The created database is including the mean, satndard deviation, and many percentiles that summarized in tables. The data processing is assisted by software Minitab 15. Then for each dimensions, the normality test will be tested. Beacuse of teh data is not normally distributed, so the statistical test must use the nonparametric test. Next, the comparison test will be tested between males and females for all dimensions by using the Mann Whitney test. After that, the comparison will be tested too with the data from previous study (manufacturing workers in DKI Jakarta) and with the data from other countries that have been published in various journals too, such as Jordanian, Bangladeshis, Viatnemese, Mexican, Nigerians, Chinese Hongkong, Jpanese, UK Resident, Americans, dan Brittish. The comparison test will be test by using the Wilcoxon sign test. The result is the hand dimensions of the male and female is differ significantly. And also, there are many significant differences from the data that compare with, both the data from previous study as well as the data from other countries. This database is expected to be used as reference for the company to be able to produce or marketting the product, design machine, equipment, and other adjustment in order to fit with the hands of DKI Jakarta citizens that can be used comfortably and in accordance with the ergonomic principles. And this database is also expected to be able to accommodate various dimensions of diversity from the hands of the DKI Jakarta citizens. |
