The purpose of this research is to obtain a description of the quality of the management of small and medium sized tourism enterprises (SMTEs) including operational, financial, marketing and human resource aspects. The enterprises studied were restaurants and accommodations in the two popular tourism destinations of Parangtritis in Yogyakarta and Tawangmangu in Central Java, Indonesia in 2005. In addition, this research also aimed to test and analysis whether there were significant differences in the management of small there were significant difference and accommodations enterprises between those at Parangtritis and Tawangmangu in 2005.
