Abstract
Employee performance appraisal is an activity that is very important for companies because employees are one of the most influential part of the company's production activities. The performance evaluation is done untu to find out how the performance has been done and then do the repair effort if necessary.PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company that manufactures lightweight bricks. Employees on the production floor is a contract employee. They have worked long enough in the company but have not received the appointment as permanent employees. Therefore, the company developed a new performance appraisal system to raise the employee. Scoring system has been designed to have shortcomings. Some assessment criteria are found only in a particular work station so that these assessments tend to subjectivity. For the proposed system was made based on the current system with a better rating. This scoring system uses three approaches based on job characteristics (Graphic Rating Scales), employee behaviors (Behavioral Observation Scales), and the achievement of employment (Management by Objectives). Proposed scoring system designed to improve the current system which still have shortcomings and tend to subjectivity. Subjective as there are several criteria that only found in a particular work station and the scoring system created just judging from the results alone. Failure to achieve production targets can not be known from the work station which has been delayed. Or reject the level of finished goods to know do not work station which makes reject increased.
