The background of this study due to the tacit knowledge and often an organization is not aware of the existence of this tacit knowledge. Tacit knowledge of organization members need to be transformed into explicit knowledge and accumulated together to improve the performance of the organization while providing self-development for that individual. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge within the organization that became a case study in engineering division of PT. X. Software used to help data processing software is PLS (Partial Least Square) which is a method of analysis that is not based on many assumptions, the data do not have multivariate normal distribution, and sample does not need to be lot. PLS method is often used to explain the presence or absence of relations between latent variables. From the data processing done by using PLS method, it is known that the tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge has a strong correlation, but has no effect. This may be due to a lack of awareness of organizational tacit knowledge. Therefore, organizations need to realize the importance of this tacit knowledge and try to turn it into explicit knowledge to improve organizational performance itself. |
