There is soe relationship between a role one plmays in a social interaction and the kind of language she/he uses. A camat (local government official), for instance, may speak in Ngoko Javanese, Krama Inggil Javanese, or Indonesian, depending upon the role she/he plays in a certain occasion. Therefore, the work of selecting a certain kind of language use is determined by various constraints involved. What are the implications of this to efforts to communicate ideas?
