"A good writer is the one who uses not only his ideas but also those of his friends," Nietzche once said. This is true in the case of Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis. In this article the writer describes how Frued uses the ideas of his friends and teachers, cooks them and makes something new out of them. This is the geniality of Freud. We can also follow in the present article many of Freud's basic ideas, their origins and developments.
