Due to an earthquake and tsunami on the end of December 2004 in Indonesia Ocean, the environment and the community life style were change in South Nias Distric. These changes have a potential to increase malaria transmission in this area. The aims of the study were to identify the malaria situaion one year after earthquake and tsunami compared with one year before. Data collection was done within two months (March-April 2006) by collecting secondary data and conducted Mass Fever Survey. The result showed that in the district, the annual malaria incidence (AMI) one year after the disaster was increased become 3.4 times compared to one year before.
