| Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia is an educational institution of higher learning in Jakarta which was established by a group of Catholic intellectuals on the first June 1960. Up to now, the institution has 8 faculties for undergraduate degrees. One of the faculties offered is School of Teacher Training and Education. This faculty consists of 4 departments. One of the departments is English education department whose vision is to make a highly qualified English language course, and to help the students to be competent in the English language, teaching skills, technology, knowlege and literature based on Christian faith, moral values, and ethics in the society. Following that, the mission of the English department is to create an educational program which is not only to give benefits in the English learning but also to give a contribution to the people of Indonesia to meet the needs of the real world of work, both in the educational field and in the non-educational fields, at the national and international levels. |
