Abstract
Teaching Practicum class in the English Department of Atma Jaya Catholic University, Jakarta, is one of the important subjects. In this class, students have to teach senior high school students. In this class, students learn to become a teacher. In this class, the students study materials and techniques for teaching senior high school students. The students learn the basics or the theories before they apply them in real situation. The students have simulations first before they teach at senior high schools. They have to prepare lesson plans and teaching aids before they start teaching. The Teaching Practicum Class lecturer checks the students’ lesson plans. They also have to make any anticipation to see if their plan works or not, and to ensure that the learning process is as they have expected. Nevertheless, they still face problems on their first day teaching.
