Hydroxyapatite- chitosan was prepared with variable reaction time start one hour until five hour with interval one hour. FTIR analysis showed that intensity absorbs ion N-H and intensity absorbs ion PO4-3 decreased for hydroxyapatite-chitosan comparison with chitosan and hydroxyapatite. The objective of the article is to show that the formation hydroxyapatite-chitosan involving binding group functional amine from chitosan and functional group PO4-3 from hydroxapatite. Hydroxyapatite ws synthesized by wet method. The aqueous solution of Ca(OH)2 1,0 M was added to the mixture of the aqueous solution H3PO4 0,6 M. The compressive strength hydroxyapatite-chitosan highest comparison with chitosan and hydroxyapatite. Reaction time one factor influenced the strength hydroxyapatite-chitosan.
