Diabetes mellitus is becoming an increasingly frequent health concern in Indonesia and a metabolic disorder marked by hyperglycemia, or high blood sugar levels. Higher blood sugar in the body can have a number of other detrimental health consequences that affect the sufferer such as the cardiovascular, renal and visual systems. The objective of the article is to describe the Diabetes Mellitus and the treatment. The data collected from library research and other related sources. It is important to notice that there are various treatments for diabetes that reduce the symptoms, but there is no cure. Nurse as educator play the vital role for prevention and maximizing the impact of the disease such as the education about the nutrition, giving injection, monitoring glucose, maintenance of ideal body weight and the medicine storage.
