Social knowledge function is to develop student knowledge, values, attitude, social skill and citizenship to reflect the life of the society in Indonesia. The objective of this paper is for to know the participation of the lectures and teaches to impress the social values n learning of social studies. The method used is a description analysis of data collected from library research. It is important to notice that the difficult situation in social studies learning is to develop the students' social values. Consequently the social studies must be learned and expanded to push the essential social reform through an effort to develop a consensus in values and virtues in human life. Mostly the teachers who are included in the intellectual community have the important role to implement the learning of the social values in social studies.
