Abstract
Student need to have motivation to accomplish high achievement in school. One of some factors that influence motivation is school environment. In the beginning, school for special needs in Indonesia is segregate from regular school (special needs school). Commence on 2003, Indonesia start to change segregation into inclusive education paradigm. One of the advantages is high achiever role models for special needs children. The objective was to analyze the achievement motivation differences between special needs students in special school with those in inclusive school. Quantitative data were collected and analyzed with t-test independent statistic. The samples were students with visual impairment, hearing impairment, physical disability, speech and language impairment and multi disability. The result indicated that there is a significant difference. Students in special school have higher motivation than those in inclusive school. Inclusive teacher tend to emphasize only on social emotional development. Teachers seem to underestimate special needs students' academic performance. This can effect teacher expectation on them. It also can effect student achievement motivation. One of recommendation is assessment. It can be described their strength and weakness. This make teacher easier to make learning plans. Along with that, teacher can assist regular student become peer tutor.
