Cellular phone is one of the communication tools that are developed until now, with many kinds of brands and series. Since the product with the same utilities increased, the needs of usability will increase too. The objective of this research is to compare Nokia 6120 Classic and Sony Ericson C510 based on usability aspect, by doing 25 sub task about telephoning task, short message (SMS), music player (MP3), camera (video) and preference questionnaire. Usability dimension that are used, which are efficiency (time), effectiveness (solving ability), learnability (the score of understanding level), error (the number of mistake) and satisfaction (the easiest solution level). The sample of research takes 10 peoples, they are girls at 6-11 years old and never use cellular phone at all. The result of this research will be solved by doing descriptive statistics, normality test, and inference
statistics. Based on the result and analysis, Nokia 6120 Classic is better in error (for sub task 8) and satisfaction (for sub task 1,9,12,17,18). While Sony Ericsson C510 is better in Efficiency and error for sub task 16 and 23, and also satisfaction for sub task 16. By overall, there are no differences between Nokia 6120 Classic and Sony Ericsson C510 in Efficiency, effectiveness, learnability, error and satisfaction. |
