Abstract
Tracer study is an approach that allows higher education institutions receive information about deficiencies that may occur in learning process and also can be used as a basis for planning activities for improvements in the future. Tracer study also become more important because it used as one of the requirements for accreditation of higher ed cation. The importance of tracer study, encourage Industrial Engineering Atma Jaya Catholic University to conduct that research activity, because tracer study which already existed is only at the faculty level, rather than the major. Tracer study that to be performed , based on BAN-PT, where there are seven aspects to be discussed, but the activities of this study only deals with four aspects that is aspect of professionalism, teamwork, mastery of information technology, and self-development. The problem, of these four aspects will be discussed, there are the critical attributes and critical process of learning, which accompanies these aspects, and need the improvement proposals to improve the learning process that is critical. Results obtained, after doing research, there are six critical attributes, which has a high value in G column, such as broad knowledge of several disciplines with a value of 0.38; independence in decision-making with a value of 0.37; attitude to keep putting the common interests rather than personal interests with the value of 0.34; broad insights about technology with a value of 0.34; able to develop the talents with a value of 0.36; and able to seek a breakthrough one step further than others with the value 0.39. Then there are six learning process is also critical, as a college student organization members (Senate, HMTI) to train professionalism, the college students can choose the task group by themself to support the
familiar atmosphere of cooperation within the group, as a member of college student activities
(Senate, HMTI) to train cooperation among members, the tasks and group discussions that allow exchange of ideas between members and to support the achievement of a collective decision,
collect tasks via e-mail to support the uses of technology to send information, and the existence of
courses that provide opportunities to develop innovation. From that critical learning processes,
then the proposed improvements will be made, which is expected to improve the critical learning
process, and increasing satisfaction. One example given is proposed which can activate and regularly give the tentoring activities, by adding a various subjects being taught. Implementation of the proposed critical learning process is the responsibility of all parties associated with
learning activities.
