Abstract
The objective of this study is to test the influence of training and work culture toward the productivity of refrigerator employees of LG Electronics Indonesia. Productivity becomes one of performance indicator for the success of a production organization and necessary to have a deep study on it. Some literatures refer that technical training and non technical training are important factor for employees’ skill in the production process which skill increase the productivity. On the other hand, work culture which is interpreted in the working guidance principals and well executed become an effective behavior in influencing productivity. The analysis has been made based on secondary data of work culture survey, training report and production report of refrigerator factory PT LG Electronics Indonesia. The researcher used the correlation and multiple regression approach to answer the hypothesis of this study. The correlation coefficient ( r ) was used to determine the correlation between variable X and variable Y. Thus, R2 (determination coefficient) was used to explain the contribution of the technical and non technical training variables and the work culture variable. The result of this analysis has shown that technical training has a correlation coefficient of 0.764 at a signification level of 0.451 (> 0.05). The regression result of non technical training towards productivity has shown no positive influence with coefficient at 1.215 and with a significant level of 0.233 ( > 0.005). Meanwhile, for the technical training variable, the correlation coefficient is 0.125 ( > 0.05) towards the work culture. And the non technical training has a correlation coefficient of 0.05 ( = 0.05) and the stepwise regression has shown a contribution of 10.6% of nontechnical training towards work culture. The work culture correlation coefficient is 0.032 ( < 0.05), where there is a positive correlation between work culture towards productivity. Based on the t-test result, the t calculation was 2.185 higher than the t-table which was only 1.999. The Constanta of 185.07 indicates that if there is no work culture, the productivity only 185.07. The regression coefficient of 0.856 showed that every single additional of 1 unit index of work culture will influence the productivity with 0.856 UPH (Unit Per Hours). Work culture’ significant level indicates that the influence towards productivity, whereas the changes of work culture influence to productivity.
