Each garment industry calls for the achievement of efficiency in production lines. Efficiency has become very important in the garment industry, therefore, each manufacturer should be able to improve efficiency in order to achieve the production target has been determined by optimizing the inputs used and outputs produced. One of the technique to measure the efficiency is Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) that introduced by Charnes et.al (1978). This method is capable of evaluating a Decision Making Unit (DMU) which not efficient to be efficient. Besides that, the efficiency of measurement is used as one input to record the system design of raw materials and man-hour control. This method is applied to the production line in the PT. X. The observed production line consists of 3 lines. Factor which is used as the input parameter is yarn, fabric, and man-hour. Whereas the output parameters are used as the length of fabric used, the length of yarn used, the cost of man-hours and quantity of product produced. The results of this Final Assignment includes several main thing is the calculation of the efficiency of production lines and increase the efficiency for line through inefficiency and recording system design of raw materials and man-hour control. |
