Being interested in how being led and leading others was working in practice I undertook an evaluation of different leadership styles (including mine) and their effectiveness in the context of the school. I detailed the management structure of the school, recorded and analysed the different leadership styles in the light of leadership and management theory and examined how successful the leadership has been. In this article, however, I shall concentrate on the use of the 360º appraisal instrument – and what benefits and disadvantages were experienced as a direct result.
