Isi artikel
In 1996, Robinson and Burke referred to the mission of sixth form colleges as being largely academic, in a non-pejorative sense elitist, and as being derived from their historic roots in grammar school sixth forms. This two-part article seeks to establish whether college leaders are seeking to preserve this mission and to what extent they are seeking new ways to 'make a difference'. It also explores how the mission and ethos are carried through the institution at middle manager and teacher leadership level.
