Abstract
PT. Sinar Jatimulia Gemilang is a manufacturing company dedicated to the production of beverages containers made from paper and plastics. Companies with factories located in Tambun Bekasi, have two different floor productions of
paper products and plastics. Production systems on the floor based paper productions areas, has several problems, such as the accumulation of half
finished goods in every production process, product defects generated by the operator with the level of damage reaches 20% for tea products envelope,
allocation period between January 2009 until october 2009 and the number of waste and the production of goods anywhere on the production areas, that could cause obstructed transport. Beside that, the long production time is tending to;
this is because many activities do not add value such as frequent operator inspection. These problems can be attributed to the waste, in other words, activities that do not add value to products and companies want to minimize or eliminate waste, such extravagance.
This study provides a proposed system to eliminated waste that occurs in companies that use the Lean Manufacturing system. Lean Manufacturing System aim to make the job easier to be understood and regulate, eliminating waste,
reduce and simplify the non-value added activities. There are criteria used in Lean Manufacturing System so that system can tell if the company is a lean company or not, that is by calculating the efficiency of a cyclic process whose results must be greater than 30%, so the company can be said as lean company, in this case to the condition of the current company, this cycle process efficiency
value is only 25.57% which means un lean company. Proposals that have been designed with Lean Manufacturing System is able to make the room become more organized and can minimize the problems that exist. Proposals, among others is to apply, enhancing the flow process map, and implement a kanban system. So the company can improve the cycle efficiency of the process results in the future for the country to 57.01%
