This article continues the paper presented in the last edition of MiE. It reports on the research commissioned by the NAHT (National Association of Headteachers) in the UK to identify, examine and celebrate good leadership practice. The Project Team set out to see how existing theories of effective leadership, the ’purposeful leadership’, ’transformational’ or ’moral’ leadership, matched up to the practice of successful headteachers in times of change.
