The purpose of this research is to evaluate the tables and chairs used by the school during the teaching process. Research based on two private schools, Budi Mulia and Saint John. Based on the observation, the range of the students can be used is from first grade to six grade. By comparing the measurement of dimension based on the tables and the chair with the dimension of “antropometry”’s students at school, we can identify the similiarity and differences. The equation of quantitive of Gouvali and Boudolos used in this research to calculate the measurement of the popliteal from the height and length of the chairs is the fundamental data needed to get the accuracy of the result. Two hundreds and ninty five students has been participated on this research. Because of the differences between dimension of student’s antropometry and the dimension of the tables and chairs, we conclude that it will bring side effect on the sitting position of the student during the learning process at school. Sitting on the uncomfort position will distrupt the learning process since it will also make pain on the back side of the body including neck, waist, upper butt, and also the fingers of the right arm. Redesigning the tables and chairs is the best solution of this matters since increasing the comfort level of the sitting position will intend to make the student learn better in class and also bring its creativity. This conclusion can be implemented on all school districts within the region of Jakarta. |
