Abstract
PT XYZ is a company that moves in the export import fields of a certain brand of luxury car in Indonesia. This company is the only distributor of that car in indo. This company plans the needs and capacity of manufacturing the cars, but the
manufacturing will be done by the vendors. All units of CBU and CKD is taken care by this company includes the maintenance before its distributed to the vendors or PT. ABC as the sales company.
At the moment, it can be said that the job desc in the PT XYZ isn’t up to date anymore. This can be seen through the unclear and unorganized system of work they have; anyone can fulfill any job that haven’t finished yet. Therefore, if any problems
happened, each of them won’t take any responsibility and start to blame each other.
Of course such a thing mustn’t be on the company system in order to accomplish the company mission. This circumstance is caused by the change in the environment.
There are some changes that causing the old job desc to be added or to be reduced
Several positions which were more important than the other positions in the company
will be less important now. As the business developed through the ages, the importance of one position will be changed as well.
Besides that, PT XYZ isn’t having the right and clear career planning for their
employees. This can be seen from the employee’s arguments that complain the low salary payment and lack of promotion. Most of them have enough education level to reach better position but now having lower position than they are suppose to be.
Some of them are stuck in their position for years without any promotions. There are indeed very lack promotion in the company except there is some employees that are retired.
Based on the reason s above, the career plan in the PT XYZ will be made based on the latest business environment. We need to measure the job value to be classified according to the position’s level. After that, we will make the career plan according to the classification result for the horizontal and vertical so that there is an assurance in the career development in PT XYZ.
