The Leicester Education Action Zone clearly aims to demonstrate success through newly established structures, which reshape the cognitive architecture of the schools and school community and fuse it to an agenda focused on learning. It is led by a dedicated, committed and thoughtful team, who have introduced a substantial range of well defined, high impact strategies to improve the schools structurally and culturally in the formative stages of the Zone’s work. The team have challenged and prompted new activity in schools, and had a good deal of success in focusing teachers on their work in classrooms with children’s learning being at the forefront of the practical activity of the Zone.
