PT. Mulia Knitting Factory is a garment company with the domestic market and overseas market. For the domestic market, products are made with make to stock system, and the overseas market with the make to order system. The main focus of this research is the overseas market, because companies must fulfill customer orders on time. At the company's current condition, there are still many wastes that occur on the production floor so that will reduce the advantage of company. Therefore, this research is to reduce wastes. Data collection is done by direct observation, interviews and discussions with the part - the part concerned. After data collection, performed the identification of seven wastes on the production floor by using a checklist, then conducted a search of the seven causes of waste on the production floor by using the Arrow Diagram. From the identification and determination of the cause of waste, the Value Stream maps created for the current conditions and performed calculations the performance criteria such as Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Further calculations carried out costs resulting from waste that occurs on the production floor. From the results of cost calculations, the waste reduction can be done with several methods of lean manufacturing, which is full work, Fishbone diagrams, kanban, and continuous flow. The results that obtained in this study is to reduce waste that occurs on the production floor so that the production process is not hampered and delivered on time. From the results of the calculation of performance criteria for the Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) between current conditions (Current State) and the expected conditions or proposals (Future State), it increases 17.21% from the current conditions. For the calculation of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) has not changed between the present (Current State) and the expected conditionsor proposals (Future State) in the amount of 4.13%. |
