Isi artikel
Ian was appointed head of the Expressive Arts Faculty with effect from September 2000, after teaching in the drama department for 10 years and leading the drama department within the faculty. When the project began he had been in post for a term. He felt that the three departments which made up the faculty – those of P.E., Music and Drama – had quite different “in-house styles”, and he wanted to create greater cohesion across the faculty. He had already taken some initiatives that he hoped might begin to create a sense of shared identity as the beginnings of a team culture. In particular, he had put a coffee machine in the faculty area to encourage staff to join together at break and lunchtimes, in the hope that this would encourage individual teachers to share information and ideas. He had also set himself a set of specific objectives related to the performance of each department, and had given some thought to how he might measure the extent to which he had achieved them.
