The theme of the 2001 BELMAS Conference was thought to be problematic.Though e-learning might be the future, it was not clear how much knowledge and understanding, or indeed interest, there would be in the theme as a basis for a full conference. There were the leading edge keynote speakers but would there be sufficient papers? In the end the range and quality of the papers was of a higher level and more clearly focused on the conference theme than has been the case in recent years. In fact the particularly significant range of papers on e-learning and leadership from throughout the world provided those attending with what was a unique and cutting-edge understanding of the current state of e-learning for leadership in education internationally.This enhanced BELMAS’ reputation for providing professional learning for all at annual conferences.
