Isi artikel
This paper explores ways in which narratives of various sorts figure in the creation, pursuit and management of conflict. Central to its argument is the recognition that any such narrative must be approached as more than a combination of story and style; tellers, audiences and the process of narrating figure critically in the roles which such stories play. The paper argues that such narrative discourse is indeed consequential for social life and individual experience. A range of ways in which such consequences might be effected are considered.
