Isi artikel
This article revisits the old theological notions of conversion and evangelism. These are vital theological ideas, which are revisited here in the light of the challenges of the neoliberal market economy. These concepts have often been used in conservative ways and with limited scope. The paper attempts to redeem their potency and invites us to reconsider our understanding of these issues. The discussion locates the evangelical task of the church within the context of the ravages and inqualities precipitated by the dominant economy. The paper also makes some theological propositions for a new evangelical movement borne out of a grappling with the biblical text and praxis.
