Acne vulgaris or acne is a common skin disease in adolescence. This acne can make some social impact for adolescence, such as lack of confidence, avoidance, etc. Based on the facts this research held to know how family factor, weather and sun light, food, menstruation, activity, and hygiene can induce Acne vulgaris in adolescence. We used descriptive study with chi-square analysis in this study. Our participants are active medical students from Atma Jaya Indonesian Catholic University held on January-March 2009. The results is 140 participants got acne (65,1%). Family factor (p=0.003),food, (especially milk (p=0.041) and fried food (p=0.005), and hygiene (p=0.008) can induce the incidence of Acne in adolescence significantly. But others factors are not. As a conclusion, some factors in this study, such as family factor, food (milk and fried food), and hygiene are successfully proved to induce Acne in adolescence. But,the others factor are not. Therefore, futher study with much more correspondences and clinical study are needed to prove the influence of these factors |
