Abstract
Test is used by teacher as the way to measure students’ knowledge. According to Oxford dictionary, testing is examining somebody’s knowledge or ability by asking questions or giving them activities to carry out. Moreover, test is any series of questions or exercises or other means of measuring the skill, knowledge, intelligence, capacities or aptitudes of an individual or group (Anderson et al., 1976:425). There are four types of test; proficiency test, achievement test, diagnostic test and placement test (Hughes, 1989). Promotion test is included in achievement test which has also two types of test, final achievement test and progress achievement test. Since the promotion test is done at the end of the course, promotion test is included in the final achievement test.
