Abstract
Teaching practicum is a final subject in the English Department Faculty of Education in Atma Jaya Catholic University. All the students majoring in English must pass the teaching practicum subject as one of the requirements to graduate. Teaching practicum subject is a final subject before students do their scientific writing or thesis and most of the students consider teaching practicum as a difficult subject. Teaching practicum subject is one that each student who takes it has to practice real teaching in the classroom minimal four times teaching in senior high school. For teaching practicum students do not only have to practice real teaching in classroom, but they also have to take the final exam as one of the requirements to pass it. Teaching practicum needs a lot of preparations before students begin their real teaching in school. Celce-Murcia and Gorman (1991) state that for the inexperienced teacher in an ESL/EFL teacher training program, the most difficult task is not the assimilation of different methods and techniques of teaching but the ability to use his or her knowledge of the English language and the four skills to write creative and effective lesson plans.
