A Hammer crusher type HM-430-35-VE as an equipment of size reduction on domestic waste in the first step of garbage conversion into alcohol has been developed. Equipment design and equipment trial of the hammer crusher were the main two procedures that have been conducted. There were several conditions thet should be considered in the design of hammer crusher they were physical properties of garbage as a raw material, crusher capacity for every hour, an equipment chopping size of product.
