ABSTRACT
THE AFFECTION OF FAST FOOD CONSUMPTION ON AGE OF MENARCHE ON GIRLS AT SMP KRISTEN 6 PENABUR JAKARTA SARASWATI PARAMITA and AILEEN CLARISSA DAUHAN
Objective. This study examines the relation between frequency of fast food consuption and the age of menarche at SMP Kristen 6 Penabur Jakarta. Methods. Data were collected with questioner and measurement of height and weight of 105 girls at SMP Kristen 6 Penabur who have experienced menstruation. Data were analyzed with SPSS version 15.0 with confidence intetrval 95% and a = 5%. This study used Chi Square test. Result. Mean age of menarche is 11,4 years old with range between 9,7 and 13,3 years old. From this study, there is no significant relation between frequency of fast food consumption and age of menarche, between frequency of fast food consumption and nutritional status, between nutritional status and age of menarche, between frequency of watching TV and age of menarche, and between frequency of watching TV and nutritional status. Conclusion. Mean age of menarche declines. Age of menarche is affected multifactorially.
