[2] companies' age influence the first return securities positively. [3] the reputation of independent auditor influences the first return securities positively. [4] the strategy of merger and acquisition influences the first return securities negatively. [5] the business process re-engineering influences the first return securities positively. [6] the price earning ratio influences the first return securities positively. The companies being studied are listed at Jakarta Stock Exchange while the period of issue is from 1996 to 2002. Result from this research shows that there is a significant relation between reputation of independent auditor, strategy of merger and acquisition, and the price earning ratio, in yielding the first return. This study concluded that many investors of capital market in Indonesia wish to get a positive first return which will only consider factor reputation of independent auditor.
