Isi artikelIn this editorial, I am continuing the discussion I began in the spring 1998 issue. I also urge readers to contribute to this discussion by sending short letters to the editor (1 to 3 doublespaced, typed pages) or &dquo; On the Bias&dquo; submissions (no more than 10 double-spaced, typed pages), addressed to me, at the address listed on the Information for Authors page of this journal. Perhaps, in preparation for the many celebrations of past feminist milestones and plans for the future that are scheduled for 1999 and 2000, together we can begin to tease out some of the subjects that will be central to the task of making sense of feminism for the new century. In this editorial, I suggest that we review the claims that have been made for a social work feminist ideology. Feminist ideologies have been around since the 1970s, having emerged shortly after the American feminist movement got its second wind. They have been influential in legitimating feminist interventions in administrative and clinical contexts of practice as well as in curriculum development and teaching.
